A few weeks ago I discovered a talented woman named Lisette Kreischer. With her cookbooks, she really inspired me to become a vegan.

She calls herself “Veggie in Pumps” and ecofabulous. Her recipes are really delicious and most of them are easy to make. American recipes sometimes have ingrediënts that aren’t in stores in Holland.

I’ve been thinking to become a vegan for quite some time, but her books and things she said really let me cross the line from vegetarian to vegan.

I just wanna say thanks to her with this blog.

Every year there is a festival of several days in Holland called Carnaval.
Everybody is dressed up, there are parades and at night people go to pubs and have a good time. This festival is originally catholic, but most people don’t even know that nowadays.
Also, every year my cousin visits us on Sunday and also stays here over night. This has two reasons: my aunt and uncle have a day off and my cousin is autistic, so for his mind he has to come over to us.

Every year, we go to a parade in a village 5 km from where I live. But in the morning, I decided we should bake muffins. My cousin was really enthusiastic.

He helped me with filling the cups and spoons with the ingredients and with the mixing. After the baking, he decorated the cupcakes. It was lovely to see him smile and enjoying it.

And, o yeah, my cousin was dressed like Jack Sparrow. How cool is that?
